I am a Front End Web Developer looking to help make the world (wide web) a more beautiful place.
I have worked in Web Development for nearly two years, mostly in a WordPress environment at Marketing Agencies around Lafayette, LA. I am interested in branching out into Jamstack development. While I am not a designer, I do have an eye for translating a design file into an interactive pixel-perfect User Interface.
Here are some of the projects that I've worked on both professional and personal.
This project was built in React, and User Interface shaped by Material UI. I am currently working on improving this app by allowing user login to save their favorite recipes to their profile.
Bruce Foods was built in WordPress using Divi Theme Builder. My involvement with this project involves breaking down resources from a design file given by the Graphic Designer in Adobe Illustrator, and translating that into a visually pleasing web experience.
This case study was built in a custom WordPress theme, where I extracted images and colors from both an Adobe Illustrator file, and from the clients Youtube channel. I had the pleasure of collaborating with my supervisor at the time to create the video switching gallery using Javascript.
The bulk of my 1.5 years experience in industry is in WordPress, using theme builders such as Divi by Elegant Themes. My most enjoyable experience working in Web Development occured when I was working in a Javascript environment using Grunt Task Runner, HTML, Sass, and Javascript. I currently spend my free time learning new features in CSS and Javascript, and familiarizing myself with Javascript Frameworks.
While it is my first time implementing a JAMstack site for others to see, I'd say I did a decent job of it!
